The Selfish Gene, Richard Dawkins

This book presents an author’s original theory maintaining the point that all living organisms are “survival machines” for genes. The behavior of biological organisms is determined by the need to replicate their own genes. The theory can be confirmed with simple mathematical assumptions. In addition, it has a large number of consequences that explain both biological and social phenomena. The book has a small amount of pages by itself. It can be read with great interest, and the information there is set out quite understandable for an unprepared reader.
